Scholarships:
The Kiwanis Club of Sayville gives an
Annual Scholarship to student(s) in the Sayville and
Bayport-Blue Point School Districts. The awards and
amount of each are determined each year depending upon our
income for that year. The Scholarship(s) are vocational
in nature. Our aim is to help the often overlooked student,
who shows talent, but for reasons known /
unknown, seems to fall off the radar. Attendance and financial
need are considered in the evaluation.
Membership:
Membership is by invitation. Come
join us at a meeting, or come to one of
our Fund Raisers, and talk to a member.
We, like all other comunity organizations are always looking for new
members. All we ask is that you be
willing to assist at the Fund Raising Projects, and attend
at least two meetings a month.
Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center:
In our New York District, there are
three distinct hospitals that we work with helping children
who have been involved in some sort of accident. Our
local area is at the North Shore University
Hospital. This hospital is a "Train the Trainers"
location. Programs and procedures are worked on and
perfected then taught to local Ambulance and Fire Departments,
as well as Doctors and Nursing Staff in your local
area. All in an effort to help ease the trauma and
nervousness of a child. The Kiwanis Club of Sayville is
a proud sponsor of this program.
Trauma
Kits are available for first responders (usually through
the Ambulance District). If you wish to get more
information about this subject, please visit the KPTC
website, our contact your local Kiwanis Club.
Thank you for your interest in Kiwanis.
